Saxon's New Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 to Launch at NCTM 2008

New programs employ Saxon's research-based, classroom-proven approach to mathematics instruction.

BOSTON — March 31, 2008 — Saxon®, an imprint of HMH Supplemental Publishers, today announced plans to launch new editions of its popular Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 mathematics programs, and an all-new Geometry program, at the 2008 National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Annual Meeting and Exposition, to be held April 9−12 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Developed for students in grades 8−12, Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2 have been updated and revised to meet today's rigorous standards of achievement. Created using a powerful research-based pedagogy, the programs employ carefully-sequenced, incremental instruction in which content and practice opportunities are distributed throughout the year, allowing students to thoroughly master each concept.

"We are all very excited about unveiling our new secondary math programs at the NCTM conference this year," said Susan Rogalski, editorial director, Math and Science, HMH Supplemental Publishers. "Based on proven instructional techniques pairing incremental instruction with distributed practice, these programs allow all students to experience success in Algebra 1, Geometry and Algebra 2."

The programs feature a number of new components, including a Teacher's Edition with support and options for differentiated instruction; Reteaching Masters; Course Assessments; Standardized Test Masters; Instructional Presentations and TI Activities CD; Resource and Planner CD, Challenge and Enrichment Masters; and Adaptations,a parallel support program with modifications for special populations.
