Houghton Mifflin Learning Technology Wins Two Prestigious Codie Awards
BOSTON—April 19, 2007—Houghton Mifflin Learning Technology today
announced that two of its flagship products received 2007 Codie Awards, the
top honors from the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA).
Larson Learning®, a highly interactive software-based
math program that combines real-world problem solving and skill building
through interactive instruction, guided practice and mastery, was named Best
Mathematics Instruction Solution. Larson Learning includes interactive
software, individualized data-driven instruction, student resources,
correlations and customized professional development.
The Edmark House Series®, which includes popular software
titles such as Millie’s Math House®, Bailey’s Book
House ®, Sammy’s Science House®, and Trudy’s
Time and Place House®, was named Best Instruction Solution
for Special Needs Students. The series combines activities that supplement
math, reading, social studies and science in the special needs and early
learning classrooms, and supports cross-curricular instruction.
Now in its twenty-second year, the Codie Awards is the longest-running awards
program in the software and information industry, recognizing best-of-class
products and services. Chosen by a panel of journalists, technology experts
and SIIA members, the awards provide a unique opportunity for companies to
earn praise from industry peers.
"We are extremely pleased that both Larson Learning and the Edmark
House Series garnered such prestigious awards," said Scott Kirkpatrick,
president, Houghton Mifflin Learning Technology. "It is an honor to be
recognized not only by our peers but also from among more than 1,000 competing
nominations."
Houghton Mifflin Learning Technology develops and delivers highly engaging,
interactive pre-K–12 solutions that inspire excellence and innovation, and
raise student achievement. With a rich portfolio of curriculum-based
technology products and services in all subject areas, this newly created
