Riverside Publishing's Edusoft Assessment Management System Selected by
Washoe County School District
CHICAGO — June 6, 2007 — Riverside Publishing, a division of Houghton
Mifflin Company and a leader in comprehensive educational standards-based
assessment, today announced that the Washoe County School District in Nevada
has selected the Edusoft® Assessment Management System
as its formative assessment solution. Washoe is the second-largest district in
Nevada and serves approximately 65,000 students.
The Edusoft Assessment Management System is a district-wide assessment
solution that provides practical assessment products, tools and services to
improve student achievement. Educators can either add their own district
assessments or develop customized benchmark tests using Riverside's Assess2Know®
item banks and Edusoft online test development tools. Tests can be
delivered either online or on paper.
"We enter into each new district relationship as an ongoing partnership, with
the ultimate goal of achieving student success," said Rick Perez, vice
president of sales for Riverside. "As with all customers, our dedicated team
of professionals will provide Washoe with expert service and support before,
during and after the Edusoft implementation."
"Riverside's professional and thorough response to our RFP combined with their
reputation and alignment of overall product functionality to our district
goals were key factors in the selection process," said Bryn Lapenta, interim
assistant superintendent for Public Policy, Special Projects and Legislation
for Washoe County School District.
Washoe purchased all four Edusoft system modules: State Analysis,
Benchmarking, Teacher Tools and Curriculum Management. The district also
purchased the services of a full-time Riverside employee acting as a
"Dedicated Account Manager," as well as Assess2Know item
banks for Reading, Math and Science.
