McDougal Littell Lab Generator CD-ROM Offers Middle School Science Teachers Quick Access to Editable Classroom Resources

EVANSTON, Ill. - June 1, 2004 - McDougal Littell, a division of Houghton Mifflin Company, has announced the release of the McDougal Littell Lab Generator, a CD-ROM that allows middle school science teachers to plan, generate and customize science labs from the McDougal Littell Science program.

Educators can use the extensive, searchable database in the McDougal Littell Lab Generator CD-ROM to edit, create, and print McDougal Littell Science labs, as well as utilize correlated PASCO, Vernier Software & Technology and Texas Instruments labs. The science labs are categorized by topic, difficulty level, time or equipment requirements, and include lab safety and procedure worksheets. Labs are also correlated to state and national standards. Teachers can create new labs with Lab Generator's built-in templates, edit existing labs by modifying text or graphics, and customize lessons to meet individual student needs.

"The McDougal Littell Lab Generator gives teachers the ability to quickly and easily generate classroom lab resources so they have more time to focus on demonstrating and reinforcing science concepts in the classroom," said Sue Cowden, vice president, director of marketing, technology and new business development at McDougal Littell. "Students will be more likely to retain this information because they're working with labs that have been tailored to meet their learning needs."

The Lab Generator CD-ROM is the latest addition to the new McDougal Littell Science program, a flexible middle school series allowing teachers to choose materials that match their curriculum. The Program provides accessible content, research-based learning strategies, and assessment options designed to help students succeed.
